This $58,000,000 project is a 12 story, high rise, multi-use
residential and retail complex building, which will serve a
population at risk in downtown San Diego. The 67,222 sq/ft
center will provide three different type facilities: a three
level child development center, 75 transitional housing
units and 67 studio apartments for low-income, single
individuals. Each of the 3 facilities will have their own
entrance. The top floor will consist of gathering space,
guest rooms and a dog kennel for security dogs.
Green Point Rated certification is underway, developed by
the Build It Green, a leading nonprofit based in northern
California. Sustainable strategies will include alternative
transportation, energy efficiency, reduction in heat island
effects, an Indoor Air Quality Management Plan including use
of low VOC adhesives and no added urea formaldehyde in
finish materials, reduction of cfc’s, and efficient water
fixtures to reduce use of potable water
